The ES3000 diathermy unit design combines all the functions of modern electrosurgery in a single, mobile device. The key design elements include the diathermy unit integrated with a base cart and a cart for transporting argon cylinders. The diathermy unit can be used on a surgical column—without the cart—or with it when the hospital lacks a column, a common situation in the Polish healthcare system (at the time).
The diathermy unit’s aesthetics, consistent with the aesthetics of modern medical devices, emphasize the device’s technological advancement. The design and use of polyester laminate make it easy to keep the diathermy unit clean. The absence of protruding elements minimizes the risk of accidental snagging and tipping.

The observed problem of chaotically tangled cables was reduced by using a power cable rewinder, a wireless foot control that is stored in the base cart, hiding the rear cable connectors and designing a cable management holder at the front.
